There’s No Secret—Just Real Life

Let me tell you about my mornings.

I’m a 39-year-old Army vet. I’ve been married for 15+ years and have four sons between the ages of 7 and 12. I’m a partner in multiple businesses, and when I’m not grinding for clients or scaling companies, I’m coaching two flag football teams and a tackle football team. Life is full, to say the least.

Here’s the thing, though: my mornings aren’t some Tim Ferriss-inspired zen ritual. They’re survival.

I wake up, stumble out of bed like a zombie, and shuffle straight to the Keurig to get coffee into my bloodstream as fast as possible. Once I can think straight, I spend about 30 minutes scrolling through my phone while simultaneously helping get all four kids out the door.

Then it’s off to the races. Some days, I’m on the road for meetings. Other days, I’m grinding through calls, emails, and problem-solving from my desk. The work doesn’t stop until either my wife tells me to shut it down or I have to leave for football practice.

Here’s what you won’t find in my life: balance. Morning meditations? Optimization hacks? Color-coded schedules? Nope. What I do have is a drive to show up every single day. To be a better dad, a better husband, a better coach, and a better business owner. It’s messy, chaotic, and exhausting—but I love it.

I don’t have time for perfect systems, and I’m guessing you don’t either. But here’s the thing: if you’re out there grinding, making things happen for your family and your future, I’m proud of you.

This isn’t a story about balance—it’s about showing up. Real life doesn’t fit into neat little boxes. It’s messy, unpredictable, and hard. But it’s also worth it.

So if you’re in the trenches, tired but pushing forward, just know this: you’re doing the work, and that’s what matters. Keep going. I’ve got your back.
